Mind Control Tricks and Hypnosis If you focus your subconscious mind you really can get what you want in life

One thing which has an enduring appeal to young and old alike is hypnosis. Widely known as an effective therapy for some psychological issues and of course addiction treatment (a lot of ex-smokers swear by hypnosis as a great way to give up the habit), it is more associated in popular culture with either stage magicians and outlandish cartoon feats of hypnotic mind control. Stories abound, largely confined to the realm of urban legend of people being hypnotized into thinking that they are animals and acting accordingly, even people being convinced that they are another person entirely under the influence of hypnosis!

Mind Control and HypnosisNow, while there is a grain of truth to many of these hypnotic mind control stories, they don’t tell the whole story. In fact, you cannot be hypnotized to do anything which you would not ordinarily have a strong moral or ethical compunction against. Even while hypnotized, free will remains free. Mind control stories have a way of being blown out of proportion. It may be that a lot of us have a subconscious fear of having our minds taken over by forces we do not understand or fear the disintegration of our personalities at the hands of an expert in hypnotic mind control.

More than likely, the reason we are so predisposed to lend credence to these hypnotic mind control stories is that we have seen and heard so much about hypnosis and understand so little about how the mind works that it is all to easy to just shrug your shoulders and say: ”Sure, I heard about that once too”. While I’m not trying to discourage anyone who wants to take up hypnosis and learn a little about using some mind control tricks as a parlor game, much less those who utilize hypnosis in a therapeutic or clinical milieu. Hypnosis is indeed real and most certainly has a place in many therapeutic regimens – it has helped many people to overcome various psychological barriers and even cope with physical ailments.

Hypnotic mind control stories can be a lot of fun to read, but it is important to remember that they are precisely that in almost all cases – stories. Hypnosis holds a special place in the imagination and it is tempting to believe too much in this mind-altering technique. However, hypnosis has a growing number of people interested, thanks to its use in some alternative therapies and “new age” practices. There are many who use hypnosis or similar techniques in the interests of meditation (meditation is essentially a type of self hypnosis, although a far cry from the sort of thing you may recall from cartoons and old movies).

So there is no need to fear a hypnotist – your mind will remain your own and your free will continues to be free. Mind control stories are fun to read and while they have some truth to them, they don’t give a realistic picture of the many uses of hypnosis, which can be valuable for therapeutic reasons and to help you relax and meditate.
